Side REunite Virtual Welcome Reception
Side Inc. contacted me about providing entertainment at Side REunite, their annual conference happening at the Meritage Resort, in Napa, California, beginning August 24th, 2021.
It would be a hybrid event with most attendees on premise and a virtual option for attendees who could not attend in-person.
Serving as emcee for their Virtual Welcome Reception, I introduced Side’s CEO, who welcomed everyone to the conference, followed by stand-up comic Richard Sarvate, and a trivia game provided by Sporkle Trivia.
And of course, I added a touch of virtual magic throughout the evening to amaze and engage attendees.

Guidewire Company Kick-off Meeting
Guidewire was planning their annual Company Kick-off Meeting, on August 12th, 2021.
It would be an all-day event with approximately 150 employees in person and another 800 logging on virtually. The day would include a keynote by Guidewire’s CEO, and sessions throughout the day.
The original plan was to join them at their HQ in San Mateo and provide interstitial entertainment to break-up-the day.
Exactly one week prior to the event, I got the email:
“We’re currently evaluating concerns over the Delta variant and whether we change our hybrid meeting on August 12 to virtual only. The leadership team will discuss and I should have a decision tomorrow. I wanted to let you know as this will impact the performance.”
Two days later, the meeting was 100% virtual with everyone joining in from the safety of their homes.
In total, Guidewire had 1651 employees joined us live on Zoom and another 700+ who watched the recording! I presented two 15-minute interstitial programs to break-up-the day, and the full 60 minute performance of Virtual Deceptions.
